Port City Plastic Surgery Stands With the Victims of #SCFLOOD – Ways You Can Help

Plastic Surgery in Charleston, SC

The rainstorm that hit South Carolina, especially our cities of Charleston and Columbia, caused a lot of damage. Even now, many of our friends and neighbors still are not waking up in their own homes. We at Port City Plastic Surgery stand with the victims, and have compiled some ways you too can help – whether you can afford to donate your time or money – to those who have lost so much.

It’s being called a “once-in-a-thousand-years rainstorm,” with Charleston and Columbia setting new records for 24-hour, two-day, and three-day rainfall totals. The flash flooding that resulted created an extremely dangerous situation and led to the tragic deaths of several people. Our hearts go out to their families.

The United States Army Corps of Engineers is positioned throughout the state to help with emergency response, and The Red Cross of Central South Carolina and The Salvation Army are two of the organizations helping to provide shelter and much-needed supplies to those who have been affected.

Here are some ways you can make a difference:

  • Call 1-800-733-2767 to donate money or your time to the relief effort
  • Donate online at RedCross.org (minimum $10 donation)
  • Donate $10 by text message by texting REDCROSS to 90999
  • Donate by mail by sending contributions to: American Red Cross of Lowcountry, 2424 City Hall Lane, North Charleston, SC 29406
  • Gofundme.com has set up a special Carolina Floods page where you can find different families and organizations in need after the floods destroyed their homes or businesses and help them directly.
  • The Newspring Church started the hashtag #FloodSCWithLove and has done quite a bit to organize people who want to donate money and efforts to help the South Carolina flood victims. Sign up to help at http://newspr.in/floodscwithlove

Note: The Red Cross does not accept goods, such as food or clothing.

The good news is, we are South Carolina strong and we are coming together to help those in need. Click here to read more about how you can help the Red Cross flood relief efforts including donations, volunteering and shelters.
